Organic Snap Peas may be planted in a patio/balcony environment by using containers or raised beds. Sugar Snap Peas are easy to grow, a very sweet pea growing on five foot vines. A trellis or cage will make picking easier. We suggest a 2 - 5 gallon size container, with drainage holes. Peas like cool weather and may be planted before the last frost. Fill pot with pre-fertilized potting soil. Plant 1-1.5" deep, 2-3" apart, thin to 5 inches when they are 2-3" tall. Place in sunny location. Keep soil moist and damp but not wet. If soil feels dry to the touch one inch deep add water until it drains out the bottom of your pot. Harvest when pods start to plump. Pea pods may be shelled or eaten whole if picked before the peas get too large.
